Election Noise

“Make some noise, let’s hear it.” The electronic sign bellowed out to the 50,000 fans watching the ball game.

That is my summary of the election yesterday. Noise.

We still have the rule of law. We still have Two houses of Congress. In two years we’ll vote again.

There are two kinds of noise; natural and manufactured.

It’s the loud, consistent rumbling on the airwaves that gets our attention. It’s the thunder that causes us to look out the window. It’s noise, it’s the alarm clock that wakes us from slumber. The loud arguments between relatives disturb the kiddies. The media and what we hear on the tube, see on videos, hear from the media, from Hollywood, from Washington, and locally is manufactured noise that has the effect of dividing us.

Then there is the natural noise of nature. Thunder and lightning, volcanoes, hurricanes, tsunamis, the roar of a lion or bear, the woofs of a rabid dog, the hissing of a snake. We run to take cover. We huddle together. We reach out for a solid safe hand to hold onto. It’s the natural noise that draws us together.

The Psalmist wrote, “Be still and know that I am God.”

The Lone Wolf destroys the peace of many.

What’s going on in this great land of ours from sea to shining sea? A teen-ager grabs a couple guns from his father’s cabinet hides them under a trench-coat, makes his way to the school where he’s a student in good standing and then pulls the trigger aiming and killing some of his class-mates. What was going in in the mind of this kid?  Why? Why is it happening more and more in this 21st century of ours compared with previous times?

In researching this list of previous shootings and rampages in our schools, I landed upon a Wikipedia page listing EVERY shooting in America’s schools going back to the first in 1764 when 10 were murdered by American Indians in what has been named the Enoch Brown massacre. [1]   It was considered a school shooting because a school principal was shot while the others not affiliated with the school were killed in hand to hand combat. Knives and hatchets? Bows and Arrows?

Tracing these shootings through history reveals that in earlier times most were angry outbursts, disagreements of parents angry over the treatment of a child, disagreements of an employee being fired, angriness of one sort or another. Then in 1966, the first mass shooting occurred at the University of Texas when 17 were killed and 31 injured by 25-year-old engineering student, who from the observation deck continuously pulled the trigger on innocents at Sandy Hook for 96 minutes. He had previously taken out his hatred for his parents by killing them that morning. [2]

Fast forward to the 21st century. The first decade had 65 shootings with 110 killed. From 2011 thru 2014: 94 shootings and 36 deaths. 2015 to present: 66 shootings with 84 killed. And now less than 5 months into 2018 there’s been 3 school shootings resulting in 47 deaths.

Let’s go back a few decades.

1940’s- 8 shootings.

1950’s-14,

1960’s-19,

1970’s- 31,

1980’s- 41,

1990’s- 66 separate shootings including the famous ’99 Columbine massacre where 2-teens ambushed   fellow students killing 15 and injuring 21.

Why the escalation? What has changed, what changes occurred in our culture over those decades?

It’s easy to surmise that the trend is escalating, but again, why? Is it because guns are available?  Is it because the legal requirements for obtaining a license to purchase and own a gun are not strict enough? How many of these assaults on human life has been made with an illegally obtained gun? How many of the incidents have been committed with a legally purchased weapon obtained by a student from his parents.

There have been many contributing factors suggested by various leaders, media and politicos including: Failure of government background checks. Higher accessibility and ownership of guns. Desire for fame and notoriety. Copycatism.  The gap between expectations and actual achievement. Mental Illness. Bullying. Psychiatric Drugs. Bullying.

All it just takes is just one to destroy the peace of many.

The political speak is all about gun safety, about the availability of guns, about the need for more additional gun restrictions and even the concept of outlawing guns altogether has hit the airwaves. “Our children are precious to us and their safety is our main concern, so let’s do this now. We must ban fully automatic assault rifles now.” The same old measures are being floated to prevent these shootings from ever happening again.  How about around the world? How do other countries restrict personal gun ownership? Ah, all that is another story.

Allow me to boil it down to just two factors: 1. One or more guns have been used. 2. One human pulled the trigger of the guns.

Do we outlaw all humans from attending schools?

Yes, it’s a human problem of that inherent free-will nature of ours. The first historical account of a human killing another is that of Cain slaying his brother Able. Jealousy is said to be the motivating factor.

There is only ONE solution to this dilemma. Yes, one only, and it’s been known for the last 2000 years.

“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’  This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’  All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”    Matthew 22:36-40 New International Version (NIV)

Ten-Commandments 2

Yep, if parents, students and school officials lived respecting and loving each other as themselves it would end school shootings. Centuries before that humans were provided the Ten commandments. And Yep, if everyone obeyed and lived by these standards set forth in those tablets of stone, that would end school shootings.

But, throughout history, a lone Wolf can destroy the peace.

But, these two simple codes cannot even be discussed in schools anymore, nor displayed anywhere in our public-school system. Outlawed by the court. It’s been considered a violation of that separation of church and state doctrine.

Madalyn Murray O’Hair, the founder of American Atheists, Inc. became famous in the 60’s for pushing the concept of separation of church and state. She eventual won the banning of mandatory prayer and the daily reading of bible passages from the public schools in 2 supreme Court cases of ’62 and ’63.  The Ten commandments were banned from being displayed in public schools in 1980.

Since then, oh how the basic nuclear family unit as the backbone of society has been slowly degraded.  Now it’s meism. Me first. A disrespect for each other, no more honoring each other above selfish desires. Adultery became a no big deal. Then divorce. It’s our sensuousness, our selfishness. Abortion legalized in 1973. Teen pregnancies. Drug use. Foul language. Cheating. Lying. Stealing. Murder. Rape. Incest. Homosexuality. Bisexuality. Oh, and also, dress codes have changed too. In the 50’s the high school required girls to wear lode fitting blouses and dresses that covered their knees and boys had to wear button-down shirts and slacks, no shorts. Nowadays, well anything goes . . . . just cover your genitals is about the only unspoken dress code.

Summary.

Oh, this part is easy. Even in the churches, the Fear of the Almighty God is not being preached and emphasized.  The fear of what happens after we die: Heaven or Hell. Yes, the creator destroyed the entire population of this earth except for one family because the rest of humanity was living as they desired. The ability of God to do this is not being preached. Yes, God threw His first humans away from that beautiful garden because they did not listen to His one wish. Instead they desired to be like God, to be their own master knowing both good and evil. Oh yes, we do know about evil.

Let me present an analogy.  You’ve been hired to work for a certain company and the owner has informed you of his expectations and rules. Obey those and you’ll enjoy the work, the benefits and the comradery of the fellow employees. You also know that if you don’t live up to those standards the owner has the right to call you into his office and say; you’re fired.

“Fired.” Yes, that phase had its beginnings with the concept of spending eternity in the Lake of Fire.

School Tragedy.

What does the person who has just experienced a tragedy of unimaginable evil such as what happened recently in Florida do immediately after hearing the news? When your son/daughter left that morning with the books and homework in the backpack, you reminded him/her to pay attention, and . . . . “I love you . . . . see you later”.

A friend calls. You tune into breaking news. You drive to the school. You’re holding your breath. You want to see him/her running to you. You couldn’t imagine the horror, but now you see it. Police everywhere. Sirens blazing. Students running. Yellow tapes. Helicopters hovering. Cameras and reporters. Parents wanting to know.

Sorry. Your son/daughter was killed.

Weep. Cry till the eyes dry. Weep some more. Pray. Grab a pillow and weep. Do not disturb me?  I want some answers God. Why? Why? That was a good school. Why here? Peacefully attending school as he/she had done 5 days a week for the last 12 years. Why? Why Mine? Why would someone do such a thing? Why? Oh God I need your help. Weep some more. And now you must make decisions. Arrangements. Casket. Grave site. Funeral Service. Family time. Time alone. Weep again. More decisions. More arrangements. Try to keep a stiff upper lip holding back the tears as friends and relatives come by expressing their sorrow.

When the week passes, the loss returns in the morning as the school bell rings, every evening as expectations of their return from school you weep some more. Every evening sitting at the dinner table trying to keep the conversations on the light side. I should have told him/her I love you more often. I never should have done that. Oh, why did I ever say such and such?  I should have been a better mother/father. I should have bought that for him/her. We should have gone on that vacation.

Why? Oh God, if you’re real, why did you let this happen? Why?

An answer came: “I’ve been kicked out of schools.”

Tearing up biology.

Ah, the world is turning and has been rotating since its creation. Can’t undo that. In this world of ours there are rules that man cannot change: the physical dynamics of creation, the biology of creation. Mankind has been given an innate curiosity about the surrounding nature of things which has led to the development of phenomial technological achievements.   So, here we are in the 21st century able to talk to and see others on the other side of the rotating earth through some sort of electronic signals as the world turns. This curiosity is also contemplating changing our nature as assigned at birth. Some don’t like it. Some rebel against it. And unfortunately, rebellion is also a part of our nature.

There are some who claim that an element in their birth got mixed up, and they would like to change that. Some are confused. Some desire to be a boy instead of a girl. Some boys like being a girl.  And these are demanding that a fact of biology can be changed. Operations have been done altering and/or removing a physical element. The claim is that society is sexist because it has certain unwritten rules that determines what type of clothes one must wear, what toys kids should play with, who must use which rest room, what kind of a job, what sports, what, what, and around it goes so noone should be happy because I’m not happy.

Anyway, you get the picture.

OK, let’s go along with the scenario. Society burns all the clothing and we all wrapped our bodies with drapery. No barbers anywhere and our hair grows and grows. Oops, some people started growing mustaches and beards. Oops, some people had an unusual growth under the chin. Oops, some noticeably had higher voice range when speaking and singing. Oops, some had unusal lumps on their chest. Oops, some seem to have larger feet and got physically stronger than others. Oops, some had some sort of bleeding each month. Oops, some would and some would not, and on and on it goes.

Ah, come on, it’s all in the placement of the 1’s and 0’s in each bite of programming, change a gene here or there, and that can be changed by one of our AI programmers.

Nope, in the beginning God created a male and a female saying to them: “be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth. . . . ”

The Commandments Part 6

As I wrote in the first part, the owner, the creator of a company has certain rights over the workers employed under his rule. The workers are pleased to have been selected. They wish to please the owner, so they diligently pursue their assigned tasks wanting to impress and be considered for a promotion. To achieve that, they know the rules should be followed, must be followed, or a dismissal of being fired.

The owner of this venture called for a meeting this afternoon after the storm had passed over the mountain top.

“Moses, it’s good to see you. I see you’ve brought a couple big pieces of stone with you.”

“Yes sir, just as you requested.”

“Thanks, now I’ll carve these rules in stone so they can’t be set ablaze as they could be if put on papyrus.”

Moses holds the tablets tight against his chest, as the finger of the creator starts carving. the tip of the finger burning hot engraving each letter a half inch into the granite. Finishing the first eight, the owner stops.

“When these are finished, I desire that you place them at the court hall to be viewed by all.

supreme-court-10-commandments-photo-by-oldironsides-the-silentmajor

“Now before I finish this project, I need to explain these last two rules. This is our last physical meeting together until the son has his designated time among you reconciling all things unto himself, providing a way of redemption for all. The faithful will meet again in different surroundings.  These last two rules should cover it. No more except the round-up conclusion. Here they are:

  • Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.
  • Thou shalt not covet they neighbor’s house, thy neighbor’s wife nor his manservant, nor his ox, nor anything that is thy neighbor’s.

“In case questions arise, I will explain further.  They are both lies, deceits. When one bears a false testimony, he’s stealing by denying the truth. But the truth cannot be killed. It can only be covered up by lies and deceit.

And oh how dishonorable it is to want something so bad you’ll do anything to get it, even lying to yourself. These two last rules state the relationship to stealing, murder and committing adultery.  When one covets something he does not have, the focus is changed to gratify the physical possession, which necessitates a change in the process of achievement.

“How far will you go to get what your neighbor has?  His wife is his partner unto death, not yours. Don’t even think about it. You’ll be killing three friendships, plus the trust they have put in you. He’s got people doing his gardening and repairing the dwelling. He’s got a state of the art set of wheels. He’s got goats and sheep in that big barn of his. He plays games riding his camel. He comes near shouting in your face: ‘wow, what fun’, while you sit on that rocker and watch, wishing and desiring those things. Day after day they are paraded before you.

“Get to work and all these can be added to you.”

“Your forefather was deceived in the same way. Don’t let that happen to you.”

“These words as etched in stone convey the laws.”

“Moses, now you must post the stone tablets where everyone will see.”

ten commandments 3

“You can easily explain all of these 10 commandments with this easy to remember saying that the son will expound on further when he visits summarized by this:”

“Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets”.

The commandments Part 5

As in my previous hallucinations? of the creator God appearing in our vision as the owner, the developer of this company, is now discussing the commandments.

The Lord God starts:

“And now my partners here we are gathered together again, this time it seemed right to venture alongside the garden. This garden is protected territory, but you can still partially view and smell the aroma, although your view and smell is foggy.  It’s partially left here as a reminder.

I will be speaking this morning  about something that shatters many a men in their quest for temporary satisfaction. Have you thought about why that union between a male and a female is so enjoyable? As the creator,  I could have done it differently when your body was finalized for use, and later wish I  had, as your ability to sensualize that act became a goal and more devilish than intended. How physically exhaustive it was, it may have led to less and less new ones being born as you shy away from physical tasks. Yet, it is very satisfying, so you want more and more.  Would you rather relax and just think about it, perhaps watch others?  Don’t even think about that. That’s desiring to know evil. That’s why this garden has been declared off limits.

The object of this lesson is to get into your deep consciousness that it is not okay for you to seek satisfaction with anyone else other than your wife. Nope, nobody else; not a friend, not an old classmate, not your neighbor, not a stranger, not a sister or your mother, and, oooh, icky, not your brother either.  No. Never. Don’t even think about it. Your features were not designed for that, so forget it.  You don’t want to get fired because of a half-hour, an hour of fun, do you?

“Thou shalt not commit Adultery” is rule number 7.

Your wife is precious and loving, sacrificing much to make you happy. Why else would you choose her? For inheritance? Get real. For beauty? That’s not all a woman is endowed with.  Did you marry her to cook and wash your dirt, clean up your messes and provide for you?  Get off your butt. Did you marry her because a deep forgiving enduring love developed?  If so, then that love will last.

You made a vow upon your marriage: to love and to honor, in riches or poverty, in sickness and in health to death do you part. So, keep that pledge and that intimate relationship will blossom into beautiful bouquets: children, and then grandchildren, to whom your innate genes are passed down, as was said before what goes around comes around.

Okay?  You got it?  Good.  You vow unto me that you will obey #7.

Just two more rules coming up later today, so back to work until then.

The Commandments, Part four.

Again, as a layman I’m taking liberties by composing my imaginative thoughts, so give me some leeway. Read on . . . . as the owner, the creator of the company addresses the working partners.

“Partners in this endeavor, I’ve called you all together this Monday morning to inform you of 2 other rules you must follow. The first simply says: “Thou shalt not murder.” The second is related: “Thou shalt not steal.” If you murder someone you are stealing his life, and that’s not okay. To steal, to take for your own anything whatsoever of your neighbor or any other fellow human is not right. Got it? Don’t do it. It’s theft.

Understand this, the meaning of murder in your language says: “the crime of unlawfully killing a person especially with malice and forthought.  You thought it, you planned to steal the life of another. Don’t do it. It’s murder.

There are strict laws against murder. It’s called a crime?  Your society added the notion that it’s a crime which your society punishes, sometimes with death. Sometimes with confinement for the rest of your physical life. Don’t waste that one life you’ve been given.

Partners, you easily forget that my foresight and my position as Lord of all, I see all and when I look upon this earth, I do not see political boundaries drawn in the sand, I do not see one tribe without seeing all the other tribes. One race of people moving from dust to dust. I have signaled the beginning and I will signal the ending. I see beyond your skin into the deepest part of your soul knowing your past, your inner being and your future. You do not have that ability as your earthly body is relegated to the laws of gravity. I see that future generations, stipulations of your circumstances will be added to my basic simple to understand rule: “do no murder, do not steal.”

“As you’re all seated in front of me, I can see it in some of your expressions as you wonder: well, what about wars? What about defending myself or my family from the attacks from others? Don’t I have the right to defend myself, my family, my community? What about abortions?”

“Abortions Huh? What about it? Here’s what; when the sperm of the male entered the egg of the woman from then on life was developing. You can’t see it, but I the Lord see a new life being created.

My word says: “I will take revenge; I will pay them back,” and “Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed.” Back to basics. Remember what was put before you earlier: what goes around comes around. You reap what you sow. So, put this in your spirit as it will come to pass later: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. If you’d all do that, there’d be no wars. If you’d all obey these rules there’d be no wars, no disputes, no arguments.”

And no bonfires. That’s another story of how, when and who.

“Cooperation by all benefits all.”

“The rest of my rules will come as the days pass. Now, get to work.”

The Commandments, Part 3.

The owner, the creator of this domain gathers the partners together with the stone tablet in front of him as he points to number 5 reading it slowly: “Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.” Exodus 20:12 kjv

“To all my partners, this rule should be an easy one for each of you to follow. Without your father and mother, you wouldn’t be here. There would be no Jim, no John, no Mary or a Louise. Your first appearance was a welcoming sight. You were nurtured, taken care of as at first all you could do was smile, cry, fumble around babbling away.

You learned how to walk, run and talk; you responded to their teachings, learned so much, so quickly that they began to fear for your safety. You have some remembrances of those early years, but not much. They sacrificed so much for you. You’ve been provided with an inner desire to explore and at times that spirit, because it was not yet in tune scared your parents and they corrected you. They hoped you’d connect the consequences of actions as they guided you along on your journey to becoming a self- guided partner in this endeavor when that time came for you to repeat the process: Jim with Mary, Joe with Louise.

“Yes, they deserve your honor; you must esteem them worthy of your praise so that your days will receive that same honor and praise from those you bring into this world. It’s part of this circle of what goes around comes around; reaping what is sown.”
